Connecting our MCP server to ChatGPT

Follow these steps to connect the Insites MCP server to your ChatGPT account

Step 1: Enable MCP Setting

Please speak to your Customer Success Manager in order to have the MCP server feature enabled in your account.

Step 2: Add the Insites MCP Connector to ChatGPT

Connect the Insites server to ChatGPT on the web:

  1. Go to chatgpt.com in your browser

  2. Click on your profile or settings icon

  3. Navigate to Settings

  4. Select the Apps & Connectors section

  5. Click Advanced settings

  6. Enable Developer mode

  7. Return to the Apps & Connectors view

  8. Click Create

  9. Enter the following:

    1. Name: Insites

    2. MCP Server URL: https://mcp.insites.com/mcp

  10. Find the newly added custom connector in the list and click it to complete setup

  11. Click Connect

Step 3: Complete OAuth Authorisation

You'll be redirected to complete the authorisation process:

  1. Review the permissions that ChatGPT is requesting

  2. Click Authorise to grant access

  3. You'll be redirected back to ChatGPT once authorisation is complete

  4. Confirm that the Insites MCP server now appears as connected

Once completed, ChatGPT will be able to access the Insites tools directly through the MCP connection.
