Our Zapier integration is bi-directional. This means you can use it to either:

  • When an Insites report completes, trigger a Zap to run. As part of this you can pass all the data from the report into another system.

  • When another Zap runs, trigger an Insites report. You can use the data from the Zap to pass in the business details, such as web address, business name and phone number.

How to install the Zapier app

Before you begin, you must:

  • Have an Enterprise licence of Insites

Right now our Zapier app is part of a private beta, open to our Enterprise partners. If you'd like to try it out, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

How to trigger a Zap when an Insites report completes

Before you begin, you must:

  • Have an Enterprise licence of Insites

  • Install the Zapier app (see above)

  • Have previously ran a report in your Insites acount (for running a successful test)

  1. Create a new Zap

  2. Choose "Insites" as the App and "New Analysis Completed" as the Event

  3. If this is your first time using the integration, you'll be prompted to "Sign in to Insites". To "Sign in", you'll be prompted for an API key from your account. For best practice around security, create a new API key just for Zapier - don't use an existing API key that's used for another purpose.

  4. From here on out, it's just a case of hitting Continue / accepting the defaults. Zapier will run a test, and all being well, will fetch the last report you generated in your account.

  5. You can then set up whatever you need to as an action to complete your Zap!

How to trigger an Insites report using Zapier

  1. Create a new Zap

  2. Set up the trigger you want to cause the Insites report to run

  3. Once you get to the "Action" step, choose "Insites" as the App and "Analyse Business" as the Action Event

  4. If this is your first time using the integration, you'll be prompted to "Sign in to Insites". To "Sign in", you'll be prompted for an API key from your account. For best practice around security, create a new API key just for Zapier - don't use an existing API key that's used for another purpose.

  5. You will be presented with a list of required & optional parameters that Insites needs to run a report. You can enter these as plain text if you wish, but most likely you'll want to connect these fields to data points from your trigger to make sure that an audit is created for the relevant business.

  6. If you wish, you can run a test, which should cause a report to be generated in your Insites account, before saving and activating your Zap.
